All About Peach
Peach's Life
I used to groom peaches for her first owner.. She was his beloved friend and companion.. He took her everywhere and treated her with utmost care..
He took ill a few years ago and asked me if I could take her or find her a home.. I, at the time had dogs at home already and committed to finding her a home... Peaches came to live with me at a time in my life when there was a tremendous loss.. A Dear friend and my Aunt had died the day peaches came in to my life.. She was my bright spot in a awful day.. I never even looked for a different home for her.. She came and was to live with me.. The rest of her life..
From that day, Peaches has been my best friend... She has been my travel partner.. She came to work with me everyday (unless she chose to sleep in.) She was my co-worker.. Naptimes and bedtime were spent with her cuddled right in beside me... She would protect the bed from the cats while we were sleeping.. Not allowing any of them on the bed... Except one cat Homie (My son) Tom's cat they had this thing... Peaches would growl and bark at him to get him off the bed... But he would just lay there, not like the others that would run away.. She would allow him after a while as long as he didn't more.. Or the barking started all over again... She would get caught sleeping with the cats and as soon as she was notice with one of them she would act like she was really upset a cat was sleeping with her... Peaches also LOVED Food and her treats.. She could make you feel just awful if you didn't give her something while you were eating... She would sit and beg and cry, you would just have to feed her... And after you were done she was quite comfortable to sit on your lap all day if you would let her... Peaches was painted green and gold once.. Pink a few times... :) She loved the attention... She was on TV during the packer football games... She loved pillows... She would cuddle up on the littlest pillow and take a nap... She looked so little in the ball she would curl up into...9-25-2000
Today I lost my best friend... The friend that taught me... How big a heart is.. How to stop and smell the flowers...
After battling with an enlarged heart and heart disease..
The last thing I could do for my companion was to put her to rest... At 10:15 this morning.. She went to heaven to meet with her beloved first companion.. She is no longer in pain or discomfort.. She is jumping, running and playing... Sitting on all the laps she could possible need and want... Seems strange.. The day I lose her happens to be on the birthday of my Aunt I lost the day she came to me... I know they are both being watched over.. With love and kindness..
I thank god for bring her into my life and allowing me to spend the short time I had with her... Even though she is gone from my touch... She has touch my life and will be in my heart forever.... "I Love You Peaches"
A Poem from a Dear friend
(Note:2002 My dear friend Maggie is now
in heaven watching over my beloved peaches)
PEACHES
Always close for the touch of my hand
Always there to understand
A warm spot in a world of cold
Why together couldn't we grow old?
But wait, she will always be
By my side, right there with me
For in my heart she will live on
To ever work her little con
The twinkle of her eye, the turn of her head
The taking over of my bed
She is off somewhere now,
Chasing Butterflies
Sleeping in Sweet Clover
But, she will be back at my side whenever I need her
To comfort, Amuse, Encourage, and Delight
In my memory Peaches will always be
My Sunshine
My Companion
My Friend
